Not very long ago there were nine reviews of MobilityPass on TrustPilot.com. Eight of these reviews were strongly negative, and one review was positive. The positive review gives every indication of being submitted by a MobilityPass employee. These reviews disappeared from TrustPilot.com, no doubt after threats and intimidation from MobilityPass.

Happily, a person who wishes to remain unnamed, has emailed me copies of these reviews.

Consumers ought to be provided with honest reviews of online firms before commiting their hard earned money, so I am publishing these reviews as a public service. If any of the reviewers do not wish me to use their review they can contact me with a valid email address and I will remove that review.

Fraud on a Grand scale

I have informed VISA and enacted charges back against this company. They operate out of an Address in the British Virgin Islands. They are an elaborate front for large scale credit card fraud. I have a cousin in the FBI who has agreed to follow through for me.
Mobility Pass have made charges against my credit card since July 2009, for non existent charges (now at $2,367). I have never used the card. I went to Vaduz, Liechtenstein (where the sim number originates from ) and never got coverage!!!!!

TERRIBLE SERVICE/SHADY

I purchased the SIM data/Global Roaming internet mobile stick from Mobility Pass in July/09. I had been looking for something to provide mobile internet on a pay-as-you go basis as I wouldn't use it much and didn't want to pay a monthly contract fee. After much research I placed an order with Mobility Pass. Within minutes they were asking me for my social insurance number or driver's licence number and I immediately requested my order be cancelled as I was unwilling to provide this information. I requested my order be cancelled literally within minutes of placing the order. I have printed proof of this. Mobility Pass refused to cancel my order. They said it was too late and the order had been shipped-which is impossible. So I decided to give the product a try. My understanding was the product would work anywhere there was cellular service. The first time I took it out to use in a place where cell sevice was perfect. The stick did not work. It said there were no networks to connect to. I contacted MobilityPass the very next day to ask for a refund as the product didn't work in places I need it to. They refused. I tried the product one more time and this time it did connect but the service was so slow it was painful. I was online for literally 5 mins at the absolute most and wasn't able to fully connect to any website as the service was so slow. The computer just seemed to freeze. I again complained to MobilityPass and requested at least the .$79 automaintain balance I had on account be refunded. They refused.

I have printed copies of all my correspondence with Mobility Pass as proof. I decided to just write the whole thing off as a bad experience. Only to be charged $90 on my credit card a few weeks later for my so-called usage. $90 on top of the of the deposit I had already made. I figured I was done with Mobility Pass at this point. I destroyed my mobile stick and chalked the whole thing up to a bad experience. I tried to remove my credit card information from my Mobility Pass account but was unable to do so. However, that particular credit card expired soon so I just forgot about it. To my surprise - the very DAY my card expired - and 2 months since I even touched the mobility stick - I get another $66 charge on my credit card from them! I haven't even used the item for more than 2 months. Also, this particular charge was from Mobility Pass instead of Global Roaming. Again, I complained to Mobility Pass and threatened legal action and again they said there was nothing they would do. I see the replies to some of the previous complaints on this website and it seems the Mobility Pass representatives keep saying "talk to us - complain to us before posting complaints on this site" etc. Well I did that numerous times to no avail. I will post complaints about Mobility Pass at every opportunity I can find to warn everybody out there to stay away from this company. I also warn anybody out there that does want to try this service or who is already a member - REMOVE YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION! Or don't use it at all. Cancel the credit card you have on account. They seem to be able to charge you whatever they want whenever they want. Mobility Pass is a rip off. They have no customer service. You just get the blanket statement of "we remain at your disposal" but that's a lie. They are not willing to help at all. I welcome any response Mobility Pass would like to post to my complaint. I imagine it will be laughable and I'd be embarrassed to say I was affiliated with such a business. Until Mobility Pass is willing to step up and admit that my charges weren't with merit and until they're willing to negotiate with me to try to reach a fair, equitable solution as far as crediting back some of the money they've charged me I will post complaints on every site I can find. There's no way my 2nd charge of $66 (in addition to the SECOND charge and $79 automaintain balance I had on account) is accurate. I did everything I could have or should have done for a refund right from the start. I tried to cancel my order before it was even delivered and that they refused this in itself is fraudulent. Consumers have a set amount of time after ordering something in which they can cancel the order for full refund. Again, I have printed correspondence between Mobility Pass and myself for everything I've stated here.

Nonexistant service

I puchased a mobility pass sim to get 3G data during a trip to Europe . The data function on the sim was non functional, no matter what carrier was selected. Customer service emails had no response other than "sorry for the inconvenience". They gave me a customer service tel # to call however whenever I called I got a a recorded message saying they were closed and to call back during specified business hours. I got the same recored message whenever I called during the specified business hours. It's phone answering system did not offer the option to leave a message.

Can't recommend MobilityPass

I tried the MobilityPass broadband modem this Summer and found that it most often wouldn't make a connection and that the charges were very, very high.
Much less expensive to use commercial hotspots and they always worked.
I do not recommend using MobilityPass

Useless service, indecipherable and exorbitant charges, roaming on top, threats

We trialled this "service" in June to attempt to reduce call and internet charges for one of our employees who was travelling abroad.

Despite our only crediting the account with £50 and assuming the service would terminate at this point (otherwise what's the point of pre-pay?), they allowed costs to rise into the hundreds - add on local roaming charges and there are far easier, cheaper and downright convenient ways of doing what MobilityPass claims to do. In fact, you could buy a decent mobile 'phone in each country you visited and just throw it away as you boarded the plane home and still be quids in.

It wouldn't be so bad if the service actually worked, but of the 30 odd calls our employee made over a fortnight, all except 12 or so failed. Considering that they charged £48 for one 20 minute call, it's probably a blessing that he wasn't more successful.

Six months on, despite the closining of our account and intervention and a successful resolution by

the credit card company, we're still getting emails threatening to forward "all communications made using MobilityPass' services - your calls, connection details, sms, faxes - and your personally identifiable information to the appropriate authorities for investigation and prosecution". To resolve the issue we're invited to connect to a website that doesn't exist (mobilitypass.com.com) which gives some idea of the type of people we've been dealing with.

Buy a local mobile, use a phonebox, call from the hotel even. Just avoid MobilityPass whatever you do.

Mobilitypass affordable

Sorry guys,

I really can´t agree with you and this comes from a very hard to satisfy consumer. Signed up with the mobility guys a while ago and to my big surprise I got a call; " thanks for joining us! " Never had that after I bought something online.

It saved me a lot compared to the previous time I went abroad and was confronted with a huge bill for a few calls back home!

Mobility only charged me for what I used, fair policy as far as I can see so I guess you guys had to take more time to get informed.

Bogus Charges and Nothing But Aggravation

Bad experience began with the ordering process. Tried the phone number provided and it kept sending me back to the initial voice message, never to a real person. That should have been my first clue that I was dealing with less than reputable operation. I was assured that my modem would arrive in plenty of time before my departure. Company missed its UPS pick-up deadline on a Friday afternoon and I just barely got my parcel within 24 hours of leaving.

Thank goodness I knew enough not to pay through a credit card -- went through PayPal which was the biggest blessing in this whole sorry experience. I purchased $79 worth of credit and meticulously kept track of my time connected so that it would last as long as possible while abroad. I used approximately 15 minutes worth of time over about a week in Germany with no problems other than the slow rate at which the modem handled the data. When I travelled to the Czech Republic, the modem wouldn't connect. I thought that there was poor reception in the room and I proceeded to open windows, move the computer around the room, and anything else I could think of to get a signal and connect. All the while the modem is blinking and a "searching" message appeared on the screen. After trying that for a while, I tried to switch to a different carrier. After finding the carriers in range, one of which was TMobile, the message was "forbidden." At this point, I gave up and paid 13 Euro to connect through the hotel. I tried at various other stops throughout my trip and the same situation. I chalked it up to perhaps a problem with the modem and was annoyed that I hadn't gotten my money's worth.

Two weeks after I arrived home from a 3 week vacation (approx. 5 weeks after first using the modem), I got a voicemail that was barely audible from the company telling me that I had a severe usage problem and to contact them. Sure enough, there were emails to this effect telling me that I had used massive amounts of data to the tune of $300. I immediately told them my exper

Another bad experience.

I totally agree with Douglas Hinton as I have just had a very bad similar experience.
I used it last month in the UK and have just discovered they have lanced my credit card account of over $600 dollars. I too thought I had read everything and assumed access would cease once my credit ran out.

It would have been much, much cheaper to simply purchase pay as you go mobile broadband in the uk.
So easy to be wise in retrospect. I will not make the same mistake twice and have already asked mobilitypass twice "How do I close my account?"
They have failed to answer that question so for my own peace of mind I now have the inconvenience of cancelling the credit card that they have details of.
